When you receive a new message from a member of the public, or the AChurchNearYou team, an alert on the Inbox tab on the left-hand side of your church’s page.
If the message came via the Get in Touch form a notification email will go to the email address which you included in your Get in Touch form (though all editors can read and respond to the messages) to let you know to check your AChurchNearYou Inbox. Find out how to change the email address to which this notification is sent in this article: https://achurchnearyou.zendesk.com/hc/en-us/articles/360002581494
The AChurchNearYou team will be using the Inbox function to alert you to the new features on the site. If the message is from the AChurchNearYou team the notification email will go to all editors.
To read and respond to messages in the Inbox click the Inbox tab on your church's AChurchNearYou page. You will see the unread messages in the Inbox tab, and the read messages in the Read messages tab.
If your church has more than one editor, they may read these messages before you, and so the message will show as read.
You can always return to the Inbox tab and Unread messages tab to check for any messages that you may not have seen.
Replying to the sender/forwarding the message
You can reply to/forward messages which have arrived in your Inbox using your own email client or service such as Outlook or Gmail.
When you click the Email Sender button it prompts your device (computer/phone/tablet) to open its default email client (Apple Mail/Outlook/Gmail etc) so you can reply/forward from your own email address rather than from AChurchNearYou.
If a default email client hasn't been set on your device then you'll need to either open your email client manually and copy and paste the senders email and message into a new email yourself, or set a default email client for your device.
