Based on editor feedback, we’ve made some improvements.
- No more logging in to read inbox messages: Inbox messages are forwarded in full to the email address of your choice, as well as appearing in the inbox.
- Speedier, easier editor access approvals: Anyone with standard editor access can approve new editor requests for their church - no need to be an 'Administrator'.
- Reuse images with the improved image library: Easily pick an existing image to illustrate a new event, no need to reupload an image each time, unless you want to.
There are also a range of smaller improvements.
The changes went live on 23 August.

Check the contact email address for your church
Check now what email address is listed for your church. On the editor menu, choose 'Get in touch' and look for the email field (see video below if you're not sure on how to find this). If there isn't an email in there, fill one in. If there is an email there, check it is the right one. This will become the email address to which we will forward messages sent by the public to your church via AChurchNearYou.com.
Does the inbox still exist? Yes, messages still go into the inbox as well as being sent to an email address of your choice.
Can I get the inbox messages sent to more than one email address? Sorry no, you can only send it to one email address. If you would like the functionality in the future for it to go to multiple email addresses, let us know via our suggestions form, as we are interested in whether this is something worth doing.
What about Administrator status? We are discontinuing Administrator status. This is because the only difference between Administrators and standard editors was ability to approve new editors, which is a power that will now be granted to standard editors. Existing Administrators will be converted to standard editors.
Is there anyone who won't be able to approve new editors? Everyone with standard editor access will be able to approve new editors. Anyone with 'Publisher' or 'Champion' level of access will not be able to approve new editors. About roles.
Can I choose an image from the image library to illustrate news articles and pages? Not yet, but we hope to develop this in the future. At the moment you can pick from the image library to illustrate your homepage or your services and events only.
Are you planning to offer the ability to add in more images to pages? Yes we want to allow images to be included in the body of About Us pages and custom pages in the future.
