The following instructions work on church sites and benefice sites – the process is identical except you get a couple of extra options if you are on a benefice site.

On your AChurchNearYou.com site there are set pages which can be edited. These are your homepage, services and events, news and notices, about us, find us, get in touch, facilities and more information.
Church and benefice editors can create custom pages which appear in the visitor menu to share more information about your church or benefice community and help new visitors to feel welcomed.
How to create a custom page on your site
- Open your church or benefice in editor view, so you can see the editor menu. Show me how.
- In the editor menu, click on create a page
- Fill in the form with your page content:
- Title: The title displayed in the visitor menu and on the page. Keep titles short and clear so that it’s easy for anyone to understand.
- Page content: Use the box to write the text content of the page. Use short paragraph to improve readability. Highlight text to format with bold, underline, italics or to add hyperlinks.

- Cover image: The landscape image is displayed at the top of the page. See here for image dimensions.
- Video URL: Embed a video onto a page so that visitors can watch it on your site. Paste the link to a video from YouTube or Vimeo to display on the page.

- File attachments: Upload up to four files as JPG, PNG, PDF or a document. Files can be downloaded by visitors to view.

- Page order: Choose the order for custom pages to be displayed in the menu. The pages with the higher numbers are shown at the top.
- Make sure all the areas marked with * are complete.
- Once complete, click save at the bottom of the page.
- To view the page as a visitor, click on view live at the top of the page in editor view to open a new tab.
The new page will appear in the editor and visitor menus.
Benefice site variations
- At the end of the form, you have the option to display this custom page on your church sites, by ticking the boxes. This will then publish the custom page onto those church site/s as well as your benefice site.
How to edit a published page
- Open your church or benefice in editor view, so you can see the editor menu. Show me how.
- In the editor menu, click on the page to edit.
- Edit the page details and click save at the bottom of the page.
- To view the page edits as a visitor, click on view live at the top of the page to open a new tab.
How to delete a page
- Open your church or benefice in editor view, so you can see the editor menu. Show me how.
- In the editor menu, click on title of the page you want to delete
- Scroll to the bottom of the page and click delete
- Confirm delete by clicking yes, I’m sure
- The page will be permanently deleted and no longer viewable by editors or visitors.
