The image gallery on your A Church Near You Page allows you to add up to 20 images that are relevant to the life and work of your church. The gallery is visible to visitors from your church’s homepage.
How to upload to your gallery
- Click on churches and benefices in the top menu, and then click on the cog beside the church you want to edit.
- From the editor menu, click on manage your gallery.
- To upload an image, click on upload beneath add an image.
- On the next screen, choose a photo to upload from your device. We recommend 2:1 aspect ratio (this means that the width is twice the height). More about image sizes on ACNY.
- Add a caption to describe the image for those who use screen readers and the visually impaired.
- Click save to upload the file.
How to edit or delete an image
- Click on churches and benefices in the top menu, and then click on the cog beside the church you want to edit.
- From the editor menu, click on manage your gallery.
- To edit an image, click the pencil on the image.
- To delete an image, click the bin on the image you want to delete. Then click yes, I’m sure to confirm deletion.
GDPR and safeguarding
Before uploading an image, make sure you have permission to do so.
If you upload a photo that you do not own you may breach copyright regulations and could be fined by the owner.
When uploading a photo that you have taken of people from your community, make sure the subjects have given their consent. This is to follow UK GDPR laws and for safeguarding.
