The following instructions work on church sites and benefice site – it’s identical except you get a couple of extra options if you are on a benefice site.

Add news stories and notice sheets to keep your community informed and up to date with church life.
News stories – Create a page on your site with news for your community. News stories can include an image, text, links and up to four files.
Notice sheets – Upload a notice sheet as a document, PDF or image file so that visitors can download and view.
News stories and notice sheets display in order of when they were published, most recent first.
Create a news story
- Open your church or benefice in editor view, so you can see the editor menu. Show me how.
- In the editor menu, click on news and notices.
- Click on the news story tab.
- Click add new.
- Add a headline and description. This will display on the news story page.
- In news content add the full content of the news story. To format the text with underline, bold or to add hyperlinks, select the text to open the text format menu.
- Choose a publish date for when you would like this article to go live and be visible on your site.
- Add tags that are relevant to your news story - the tags are the search terms people can use, so using them helps more people to find your church.
- Add a feature image which will display on the news story page.
- Under optional details, upload a file if applicable. Each news story can have up to four files. Visitors can download the files to view.
- Click save at the bottom of the page.
Notice sheets can be viewed as a grid or in a list. Change the view by clicking on the list or grid icon on the page.
Benefice site variations
- After adding the description, you get the option to tick the boxes of the churches you would like to display this news story. This will then publish the news story onto those church site/s as well as your benefice site.
Add a notice sheet
- Open your church or benefice in editor view, so you can see the editor menu. Show me how.
- In the editor menu, click on news and notices.
- Select the notice sheet tab.
- Click add new.
- Add a headline to appear on the notice sheet page.
- Choose a publish date for when you would like this article to go live and be visible on your site.
- If applicable, add a date a time for the notice sheet to be deleted and no longer visible to visitors.
- Upload the notice sheet file.
- Click save at the bottom of the page.

Benefice site variations
- After adding the headline, you get the option to tick the boxes of the churches you would like to display this notice sheet. This will then publish the notice sheet onto those church site/s as well as your benefice site.
Copy the news story or notice sheet to another church’s site
You now have a choice of two ways to get your services and events and news and notices to appear on multiple churches. Option 1 is to use the ‘copy’ functions once you have created the content for one church (see instructions below). Option 2 is to create the content at benefice level, from within the relevant benefice site, where you will be asked to choose which church(es) should display the content.
The benefit of option 2 (benefice listing) is that if you need to make an edit it will be reflected in all the copies at once, whereas with option 1 (copy) you would have to amend each copy individually. However if you are used to using the copy function you may wish to continue using it for now until you become familiar with the benefice options.
Option 1: Using the ‘copy’ function
- Open your church in editor view, so you can see the editor menu. Show me how.
- In the editor menu, click on news and notices.
- Click on news story or notice sheet
- Click on the pencil beside the news story or notice sheet you wish to copy.
- Click copy found at the bottom of the page.
- Select the box next to each church to copy the news story or notice sheet to their site.
- Click copy to save.
The news story or notice sheet will appear in the news and notices section of each church selected. When edits are made to the original news story or notice sheet they will not be transferred to any copies.
Option 2: Creating the content at benefice level
- Open your benefice in editor view, so you can see the editor menu. Show me how.
- In the editor menu, click on news and notices.
- Click on the news story or notice sheet tab
- Follow the instructions above to create a news story or notice sheet, including the benefice site variations.
