The following instructions work on church sites and benefice site.
Regularly occurring services and events may need to be paused during the church year calendar such as during holidays.
There are two ways to pause events without deleting them from the calendar.
Add a break into the schedule
This will add a break to a regularly occurring event so that it does not appear on the calendar during the break period.
- Open your church or benefice in editor view, so you can see the editor menu. Show me how.
- In the editor menu, click on services and events then:
- Add new to create an event,
- or the pencil beside an existing event.
- If you are making a new event, fill out all the details
- Scroll down to regular event detail section.
- Create the break by inputting dates into break starts and break ends
- Click save at the bottom of the page.
Unpublish an event
This will remove the event from the public calendar without deleting. Editors can edit and publish the event in the future.
- Open your church or benefice in editor view, so you can see the editor menu. Show me how.
- In the editor menu, click on services and events then click on the pencil beside the event you want to edit.
- To unpublish the event so that it no longer appears on the calendar, untick the box marked publish then click save at the bottom of the page.
View unpublished events
- Open your church or benefice in editor view, so you can see the editor menu. Show me how.
- In the editor menu, click on services and events.
- In the dropdown menu, select unpublished events to show all events which are unpublished.
- Click on the pencil beside an event to edit.
- Tick the box marked publish then click save at the bottom of the page.
