The following instructions work on church sites and benefice site – it’s identical except you get a couple of extra options if you are on a benefice site.

Listed service and events appear in calendar order, with regular events appearing in the order just once, on their next occurrence.
How to add and tag a service or event
- Open your church or benefice in editor view, so you can see the editor menu. Show me how.
- From the editor menu, click on services and events then add new to create an event.
- Fill in the title and description.
- Click change tags and add relevant tags so that visitors can find relevant services and events near to them.
- Add a feature image to show visitors what to expect at the event. This is displayed on the services and events page. Alternatively, if creating an event on a church site, click 'Select image from image library’ to use one of your existing images. About image sizes.
- Choose the location. Untick the box marked this takes place at our primary location to use a different address than is listed for your church building. This can be an address or an online location such as ‘Zoom’ or ‘YouTube’. Include the URL link to the online location in the live stream URL box, if applicable.
- Use the tabs to select either a regular event or a one-off event
- Regular events:
- Select the frequency from the drop down menu
- Daily
- Weekly
- Monthly
- Custom
- Select the start and finish date and times
- Select the month, weeks or days which you want the event to reoccur
- If you have chosen custom frequency, select each date from the calendar that the event will occur.
- Select a start date and finish date for the series of events
- If you wish to include a break in the series of events such as during a holiday period, add break start and break end. The event will not appear on the calendar during the break period.
- Select the frequency from the drop down menu
- One-off events:
- Select the start and finish date and time.
- Use the web link box to add a sign up form, website address or useful link to include on the events listing.
- Under optional details paste the URL (link) to the livestream event. Please make sure you include "http://www" when pasting the link.
- Regular events:

- Use file attachments to upload any additional documents such as an order or service
- Click save at the bottom of the page.
- Share the event with your community using the share buttons found at the bottom of the saved event. Share on social media or email.
If you want the event to be saved as an unpublished draft only (not visible to the public) then untick the publish box at the bottom of the page before you click save.
Tip: Make sure you've filled in all the mandatory fields (marked with an asterisk *).
Benefice site variations
- After filling in the event title, you get the option to tick the boxes of the churches you would like to display this service or event. This will then publish the service or event onto those church site/s as well as your benefice site.
- At the location section, tick the box/es to select the location/s of the service or event - you will be able to choose from all your benefice's churches. Or if the event is not at any of your church buildings, you can choose ‘custom location’ and fill out the form.
How to edit a service or event
- Open your church or benefice in editor view, so you can see the editor menu. Show me how.
- In the editor menu, click on services and events then click on the pencil beside the event you want to edit. If you can’t see the entry you are looking for, use the dropdown menu at the top (click where it says ‘Show published events’) to help you find it.
- Review the service or event details and make edits where needed.
- Once editing is complete, click save at the bottom of the page.
How to unpublish or delete an event
- Open your church or benefice in editor view, so you can see the editor menu. Show me how.
- In the editor menu, click on services and events then click on the pencil beside the event you want to edit. If you can’t see the entry you are looking for, use the filter at the top (click where it says ‘Show published events’) to help you find it.
- To unpublish the event so that it no longer appears on the calendar, untick the box marked publish then click
- To delete the event click delete
How to publish a previously unpublished event
Services and events which are in the past or have been manually unpublished will appear as unpublished events visible to editors.
- Open your church or benefice in editor view, so you can see the editor menu. Show me how.
- In the editor menu, click on services and events.
- In the dropdown menu, select unpublished events to show all events which are unpublished.
- Click on the pencil beside the event you wish to publish.
- Review the service or event details and make edits where needed.
- Tick the box marked publish and then click save to publish the event to your calendar.
