If you are an incumbent, you can be automatically approved as an editor, when you request access to edit your church(es).
However, this only happens if you registered on the site using an email address that is publicly listed for you on Crockford’s Clerical Directory.
Automatic approval checklist
When you request access to edit a church, our system checks the email address you registered with and automatically grants you an editor role if all of these criteria are met:
- You are listed on Crockford as the incumbent for the church you are trying to access
- The email address you are using to log in on AChurchNearYou.com matches what is shown for you on Crockford
- You have chosen to have a public entry on Crockford
If you are not given automatic access it may be that one of these criteria has not been met.
What if I have not been automatically approved?
You’ll get approved the usual way instead. That means, the existing editor(s) of the church will have got an email telling them to approve you (and don’t worry, if there aren’t any existing editors then we get automatically notified that we need to sort your access).
Or, if you prefer, contact us letting us know which church(es) you are trying to access. We’ll then manually check we can see your name on Crockford or the National Clergy Register and approve you right away.
