The House of Bishops has stipulated that all churches must display their safeguarding statement on the homepage of their website, and this includes their A Church Near You page. We have added approved copy that can be used if you don’t have your own. To access this, once logged in to your church’s page, click on the pencil by the church name on the left-hand side, and then scroll down the ‘Edit your Church’ form that appears and you will come to the ‘Page Content’ field. In this space you can add your welcome message and safeguarding content. The approved copy that we have made available is here. There are also further instructions within the form to assist you. Copy and past this into the box to appear under your welcome message.
Some churches also want to add a specific safeguarding page, to do this, click on ‘Add a page’ on the left-hand side and you can create your safeguarding page. Find out more about adding pages to A Church Near You here.
Please note that at the bottom of every page on A Church Near You there is a Safeguarding tab which provides comprehensive Diocesan Safeguarding information.
