The House of Bishops has stipulated that all churches display their safeguarding statement on the homepage of their website, and this includes their A Church Near You page. We have added approved copy that can be used if you don’t have your own. To access this, once logged in to your churches page, click on the pencil by the church name on the left-hand side, and then scroll down the ‘Edit your Church’ form that appears and you will come to the ‘Page Content’ field. In this space you can add your welcome message and safeguarding content. The approved copy that we have made available is here. There are also further instructions within the form to assist you.
It is good practice to also add a specific safeguarding page, to do this, click on ‘Add a page’ on the left-hand side and you can create your safeguarding page.
Please note that at the bottom of every page on A Church Near You there is a Safeguarding tab which provides comprehensive Diocesan Safeguarding information.
On Mobile: Once logged into your church page on your device, scroll down past ‘Analytics’ until you reach ‘Homepage’ and click the grey pencil to the right. Then follow the instructions as outlined above. Should you wish to add a specific safeguarding page, then scroll down to ‘About pages’ and click the grey pencil to the right, below the list of page is the ‘Add Another’ option, click this and then you can add a Safeguarding page as required.
