With the closure of church buildings until further notice, we are aware that many churches want to edit their pages to reflect this on A Church Near You.
We are advising the following steps (You will need to be logged in to do these):
Edit your church’s homepage with a message announcing that all public worship is suspended until further notice in the parish, and any other information that needs to be make known; such as services that are being live streamed, support for vulnerable members of the parish and how people can get in touch.
Please also ensure your A Church Near You welcome message has Safeguarding information, in line with the House of Bishops guidance.
Edit your services and events to reflect your altered service times. Where a service is not taking place you can add in a break. We suggest you start the break with immediate effect and put an end date of a few months ahead. This can then be edited when the worship ban is lifted. You can learn how to do this here.
With services that you are going to live stream, please add the ‘Live Stream’ tag to the event so it is searchable. Also change the description of the service to make it clear that it is live streamed. You can learn how to do this here.
If you are planning on live streaming your service you can read about how to do this here.
Also you can embed video on you’re a Church Near You pages, you can learn about this here.
