Our development and project team are continuously working to bring new functionality (much of which you can find out about at: www.achurchnearyou.com/roadmap) to AChurchNearYou.com, but they’re also constantly improving the existing experience for editors and the public. There are some things which we're aware of which aren't functioning as editors would expect, or which are causing editors to encountering issues when using, these are listed below:
Postcode not appearing on Get in Touch
On the Get in Touch page, if you enter a postcode into the postcode box it's currently not appearing on the Get in Touch page, but if you put the postcode in the address box it will appear. Our development team are working to resolve this. In the meantime, please enter the postcode into the address box.
Tag names repeating
We are aware of an issue affecting some events whereby, if they're clicked though to from the calendar view, the tag appears to repeat itself. For example COFFEE becomes COFFEECOFFEE.
Clergy appearing multiple times on More Information tab
We are aware of an issue whereby some clergy are appearing twice in the More Information section of churches on AChurchNearYou.com, although only being listed once on the church's Crockford's entry. Our development team are working to resolve this.
Services and Events every week tick boxes
If an editor ticks the 'every week' box - when you hit save it auto-ticks all the every first, second, third etc week (to save you time).
The functionality is working correctly, but what you're seeing with regards to tick boxes isn't displaying correctly.
The development team are currently updating this so that when an editor ticks every week it says every week not first second third etc.
One Off Service or Event is selected but error message says to select One Off or Regular Service or Event
Editors are finding that when they enter an event and select One Off Service or Event then save that they encounter an error message which says they need to select either One Off or Regular Service or Event.
This error message is usually displayed when not all the fields on the Service or Event have been correctly filled in. Our team are aware that the error message is confusing, and are working to make the process clearer.
In the meantime, click here for guidance on adding a new Service or Event.
Incorrect times displaying on calendar
We spotted an error early on with the way the calendar was displaying data, so we disabled this feature. The calendar was then only visible when logged in. The issue was then fixed, and the calendar is now visible to all users.
Services and Events erroneously appearing throughout a whole month on calendar
Editors later made us aware that the calendar was showing events lasting the whole month when actually scheduled to end or begin in the middle of the month. The development team have now resolved this issue.
