Churches with a Pastoral Services Diary Account can point prospective brides and grooms towards unique URL (website address), which leads to a form for the couple to complete. The form includes fields for their names and contact information, but also for the couple to indicate what they feel their qualifying connections to the church are which helps initiate the Marriage Measures conversation. Once completed and submitted the contents of the form are sent to a holding bay in the Pastoral Services Diary, and the Users of the Account are alerted by email to the new enquiry. Once someone from the church has made contact with the couple they can either accept the enquiry into the Account or decline it and refer the couple on to another church.
Each church using the Pastoral Services Diary has a unique web form URL (web address). The unique URL of each church’s enquiry form is: https://www.pastoralservicesdiary.org/enquiry/wedding/ followed by their A Church Near You church number.
You can find a church's AChurchNearYou ID by going to the AChurchNearYou church page in question and looking in the browser address bar where you'll see: https://www.achurchnearyou.com/church/ followed some numbers, those numbers are your AChurchNearYou ID.
So, for instance, All Saints, Misterton's AChurchNearYou page is https://www.achurchnearyou.com/church/17720/ meaning their AChurchNearYou number is 17720 which in turn means their enquiry form URL is https://www.pastoralservicesdiary.org/enquiry/wedding/17720
HINT: If you want to view this, or any of the Wedding Enquiry forms, you'll need to make sure you're logged out of your Pastoral Services Diary Account (or use Private Browsing/Incognito Mode) otherwise you'll simply be taken to your Dashboard.
All Saints, Misterton could use their Pastoral Services Diary enquiry form URL: https://www.pastoralservicesdiary.org/enquiry/wedding/17720 on their website, on their Facebook page, and on their AChurchNearYou profile page.
When the couple click 'Send', their details will arrive in a holding bay in your Pastoral Services Diary Account, and can be seen on your Dashboard under the heading 'Enquiries from achurchnearyou.com'.
To add this couple to your Diary, click on their names from either the Dashboard or the achurchnearyou.com Enquiries page, and a new Service profile will open up with the couple's details already entered. Add any further details you want and then click the 'Save Changes' button. The couple's names will disappear from the achurchnearyou Enquiry section and can now be seen with all your other Services and People.
Wedding Enquiry button no longer available on AChurchNearYou
AChurchNearYou.com has recently been relaunced with a brand new design. All major updates of this nature come with a whole host of new benefits and features, however sometimes some older features aren't included initially in the rebuild. This has been the case for the Wedding Enquiries button which AChurchNearYou editors used to be able to switch on within their AChurchNearYou admin panel. This option enabled a button the that church's A Church Near You profile which, when clicked, led a prospective bride and groom to a bespoke Pastoral Services Diary enquiry form for that church. Once completed and sent, then contents of the form would land in a holding bay in the church's Pastoral Services Diary Account and the Users of the Account notified so they could make contact with the couple and choose to accept the Service into the Diary or decline it.
While the actual button functionality hasn't been included on this current version of AChurchNearYou, the forms have not been removed from the Pastoral Services Diary, and church's can still receive enquiries into their Pastoral Services Diary Account from AChurchNearYou.com (click here to find out how to add hyperlinks to your AChurchNearYou.com page), and even from their own website or Facebook page.
