Services and Events can be edited, added and removed, or published and unpublished. To edit or delete a service (once logged in to your church page) click on the pencil in the ‘Services and Events’ tab on the left hand side of the page, find the service you want to edit, click on the pencil by it and you can edit the content, or at the bottom of the event there is the ‘Delete’ button and the publish / unpublish tick box.
Please note that once the service or Event has taken place it will be automatically unpublished, making it no longer visible. This means you can republish the event at a future date if it is to take place again, by ticking the ‘publish’ box at the bottom of the event. This is especially useful for Christmas and Easter Services, where the majority of the service information remains the same, and the dates just need updating for that year.
To add an event, click on the ‘+’ next to ‘Services and Events’ and then follow the instructions on screen. To copy an event to another church, click the ‘Copy’ button at the bottom of the event, then choose from the list of churches displayed that you wish to copy the event to. (This is especially useful for multiple church benefices).
Please note: if you are editing a news item you have the option at the bottom of the form to ‘Save as New’ this will duplicate this story and save it as a new story alongside the existing one.
On Mobile: Once logged into your a Church Near You page on your device, click on ‘Add an event’, in this section you can either click the ‘+’ to add a new event, and follow the instructions on screen or you can scroll down to your existing events and click the grey pencil next to the event you wish to edit, and then when you have made your changes, click ‘Save’ at the bottom of the screen.
